it is a must for you, to be you! (part 1)

Whenever you are placed in front of a potential customer, you have to remember that you are not just selling them a product or service, but you are also selling them yourself. Customers will often feel a sense of comfort and trust when they feel comfortable with you and what you have to offer them. A bond cannot be broken. The main component behind establishing this connection is the ability to be genuine.

Beyond simply networking your business, sincerity and honesty is just as important. For example, let’s say that you were starting your own business and you received an invitation for a gathering of business owners for the first time. Quite a few people will be in the room that you have never met before. All of those people have their own set of contacts in the networking field, so there is a tremendous potential to gain access to multiple connections in the business world. There is a lot at stake for this meeting, so you have to make sure you put your best foot forward.

You have two options when you walk into this room. There is the option of being egotistical and making it seem as if you are holier than thou or you can choose to speak with others and learn what they have to offer. What choice are you going to make? How long have all of these other members attended these meetings? What is the main reason why they are there in the first place?

This is where it all starts to get a little complicated. If you enter into the room and come off as someone who is fake, the truth will be shown. You do not want to appear as if you are simply going through the motions to help build your business. If you are truly interested in the people you meet, the whole process will feel natural and that is when you are being a genuine individual. Your genuine nature is appreciated and recognized by all of those in the business community.

To understate the importance of being genuine in a business setting means you are never going to get ahead. Most of the time, people are able to sense when someone is passionate and sincere in the words they speak. Someone who is simply faking his or her way through the conversation will quickly be thrown aside. When you are genuine, your business connections will want to do what they can to help you rise in the ranks of the business world.

It is critical to be honest and genuine in everything you do, especially if you are planning to succeed and excel through the business world. The more genuine you are the more people are going to pay attention to what you have to say. Your voice will become powerful and abundant when you show who you really are and what you have to offer others.
